Compliance & Ethics

At The MedicBook, we are committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct, corporate responsibility, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This underpins the trust placed in us by private patients, consultants, hospitals, and corporate partners alike.

Ethical Business Conduct

We operate with transparency and integrity in every aspect of our service. Our team is guided by a strict code of conduct that reflects:
  • Honesty in referrals — We recommend consultants and hospitals solely based on objective clinical excellence and specialist relevance to the patient's condition.
  • Zero tolerance for bribery or corruption — We strictly prohibit any offer, promise, or payment of bribes or improper influence. This includes any financial or other inducements made to secure or retain business or to influence a decision made by a public official or private entity.
We comply with all relevant anti-bribery and corruption laws, including but not limited to:
  • The UK Bribery Act 2010
  • The US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
  • The Criminal Finances Act 2017 (relating to the facilitation of tax evasion)
We certify that we have not and will not directly or indirectly offer, authorise, or give anything of value to any person or official in order to gain improper business advantage.

Data Responsibility

While we work closely with businesses to help employees access the right medical care, we do not share employee data with any third party unless explicitly authorised by the individual and necessary for the delivery of care (e.g. appointment booking with a specialist). Our full Privacy Policy outlines how we manage all personal data in line with GDPR and UK Data Protection laws.

Independence & Transparency

We are not owned by, nor do we receive commission from, any hospital or consultant. This allows us to remain completely independent in our guidance and ensures that our recommendations are solely outcome-driven and patient-centred.

Compliance Oversight

Our Managing Director, Samantha Boyce, is responsible for upholding The MedicBook’s ethical and compliance standards. We also continually review our practices to meet the expectations of our hospital partners, insurers, and legal obligations.
